Blog 1.1 One Fall Weekend

John Muir once said, “In every walk in nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” The PNACO Fall Hike/Walk  today was not just a physical exercise but it was also an activity for the minds as we shared something about work, event, personal experiences, with each other. On top of it all, it served as a natural mood booster since we were  able to talk to other people  aside from our own inner circle. It was a change of scenery for most of us.  Indeed it was a free natural mood enhancer.  We were able to explore the Belmar Park and took a lot of pictures as always. The autumn Colorado weather gave us a chilly feel thus helped us to be in a chill relax vibe through out the morning.

Weekends are for brunch so the get together is incomplete without it. Carina, our President- elect and event organizer suggested the local Diner Sunrise Sunset. The customer service was the best and the food was delicious! Most of us ordered the famous eggs benedict either with bacon, ham, or simply vegetarian. Yes you heard it right healthy people out there! They also have vegetarian option.

After feeding our mind, body, and soul, it was time to shop at The Gift House and support PNACO’s  Healing cART Project with all cards hand painted by Dr Armi Earlam, our current Vice President, and to support small local business. A portion of the proceeds will help support our organization thus “advancing the causes of the Filipino nurses in Colorado”. The store is so cool with nice unique items. It is a great place to visit for gifts for all occasions.

After shopping it is time for  November meeting. We, the Officers had a productive discussion and hands-on practice of our pnaco email/gmail account in Belmar Public Library. Heidi, the IT in the group helped us to understand better our new email/gmail account and how it is link now to the updated PNACO website. Finally we have a working website and  we were all excited about it. Thanks to Heidi’s expertise, perseverance, and patience. Overall, it was a productive Saturday get together. As Phil Jackson once said, “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”
